Victoria Day 2020

It was the 'May Long Weekend' (May 16-18, 2020).

The first day of the long weekend, we just bought some stuff from Canadian Tire, Dollarama, and Walmart. The second day, I just slept the whole day. I just cooked longganisa for lunch and that was it. I didn't even wash the dishes kasi talagang sawang-sawa na ako. Nabuburyo na ako sa life lol. Buti na lang mabait ang asawa ko kaya he just let me be.

Binuksan na nila ang parks dito sa BC, with the warning that people should practice physical distancing, kaya we decided to go to one para nga makaalis naman ng bahay.

Matagal na naming nadadaanan itong Aldergrove Regional Park (na less than 10 minutes lang from our house) kaya dun na lang.

Ahhh, trees are so relaxing talaga!

Sobrang sunny (pero mahangin din) kaya we just stayed near the parking lot.

Nathan was very happy to be out again! The past two months, talagang sa bahay lang siya at kotse eh.

Ang laki na ng anak ko! He's now 5 1/2 years old.

There were a few groups na nagpipicnic at may dala pang mga ihawan. Medyo nainggit kami haha. Next time babalik kami with matching food na. At kapag maluwag na sa social gatherings, maybe we can invite our new friends, too!

Gustung-gusto nila sa arawan =)
We are grateful for this day. Every day is indeed a blessing.

In dire need of haircut =)

We just stayed there for 1 1/2 hours.

Ooops, by the way, Victoria Day is a Canadian holiday in honor of Queen Victoria, Queen of the British Empire. Every last Monday preceding May 25 (the queen's birthday) ito sine-celebrate, to give opportunity na rin to Canadians to enjoy a long weekend. Unlike in Pinas, konti lang ang holidays dito sa Canada (tapos bihira pa ang mga calamities) kaya talagang sinasamantala ng mga tao to travel and/or spend time with family.

Victoria Day marks din the beginning of summer dito. Grabe, summer na! Covid-19 deprived us of spring, tapos eto at very limited din ang mga pwedeng gawin this summer. Hay, sana lang talaga matapos na ito so things can go back to the way they used to be (keeping fingers crossed!).
