Jollibee Canada Update

We went to Jollibee in Tukwila, Washington yesterday to devour some chickenjoy. Nakakamiss na rin kasi. Siguro kung hindi lang 3-hour crossborder drive ang nearest Jollibee sa amin, every weekend talaga kaming pupunt dun.

Now the question is, kumusta na nga ba ang Jollibee dito sa Canada?

December 2016 nang una silang magbukas ng branch sa Winnipeg. First ever yun sa buong Canada. Nakakainggit talaga na nakaka-bitter talaga haha. Tapos they opened another branch pa uli doon.

After more than a year (nito lang April) they opened their third store naman in Scarborough, Ontario. Tapos this July 20, yung fourth store naman ang binuksan sa Mississauga, Ontario.

Four stores in 2 years and 7 months. Nakakaloka, bakit apat lang??? I really thought magbubukas na ang Jollibee sa Edmonton kasi ginagawa na talaga noon ang establishment with Jollibee signage na. Tapos sa website ng Jollibee may job postings na rin sila for the Edmonton branch. Anyare nga ba?

I guess people could only speculate. Some say na may disagreement ang Jollibee Management with the Alberta government kasi daw gusto ng Alberta na Alberta beef ang gamitin sa burgers. Oh well, we'll never know really.

But there's one thing for sure, ang bagal bagal ng expansion nila noh! Talong-talo pa sila ng Miniso? Obviously, ang laki laki ng market ng Jollibee anywhere in Canada. And there's really a big clamor to open up stores here, sa lahat ng probinsya, so what are they waiting for? Nakapag-start na sila sa Manitoba in 2016, bat hindi pa nila tinulo-tuloy? Nakakainis talaga.

According to Jollibee North America's President, they are planning to open 100 stores here in Canada in the next 5 years. Sana naman hindi paasa. At paspas-paspasan naman nila.

Anyway, I saw this menu in Jollibee Canada's Facebook page. I am not sure kung pare-pareho lang ang prices sa four branches but this is specific to the Mississauga store:

Hmmm. Yung C1 (2-pc chicken, 1 side, 1 soda) costs $8.49 plus 5% GST = $8.91. Kung iko-convert sa pesos, around Php356.58 yan. Mahigit doble ng presyo sa Pinas (parang Php160 yata doon the last time I ate). Pero dito, ayos na rin yung presyo na ganyan. Presyong foodcourt na rin. At least iyan may bottomless drinks na at medyo marami ang rice (kung parehas sila sa Jollibee USA ha).

Hay naku Jollibee, punta ka na rito sa BC please!
